On this page I intend to link to a review of each chapter of the Palgrave Book of the Vampire. As I type this the handbook's final chapter (98 including the introduction) has been posted online. Access is via Institutional logins unfortunately. A physical (and Kindle) version is due for release but is rather expensive. For those interested there are Amazon UK and Amazon US product pages.
I will not, for obvious reasons, be reviewing my two chapters but will link to their pages respectively from here.
This series of reviews will be a labour of love posted over a protracted period of time.
The Chapters:
- Introduction to the Handbook of the Vampire - Simon Bacon
- Australia and New Zealand Vampires
- Between the Traditional and the Metaphorical: Bleeding Out the Foreigners in Chelsea Quinn Yarbro’s Saint Germain Novels
- ‘Beyond Humanity’: An Expedition Charting Non-Human Identities
- Black Vampires and Blaxploitation
- Blood Is Life. Life Is Blood: The Psychology of Vampirism
- Bloodsuckers from Beyond: Cold War Era Space Vampires of the Cinema
- The Bloody Countess Elizabeth Bathory
- Bram Stoker’s Dracula in Context
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Analyzing the Series and Its Legacy
- Canadian Vampires
- Carl Dreyer’s Vampyr and the World of Dreams
- Vampiric Buildings: Life Soaked into Mortar and Blood into Earth (Mine)
- Where Vampires Fear to Tread: Killer Bats and Vampireless Vampire Films (Mine)
