David Goyer, who brought Blade to the big screen is set to direct Baltimore, also known as the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, based on the graphic novel by Mike Mignola – who brought us Hellboy and The Amazing Screw-On Head – and Christopher Golden.
Set around World War 1 it sees the return of the source of all evil – the Red King – and features Lord Henry Baltimore who was bitten by a demonic vampire bat whilst in the trenches and pulls together a team to battle the Red King.
Also on the horizon is The Dead Matter. Inspired by the music of Midnight Syndicate, the film tells the story of a vampire relic with occult powers that falls into the hands of a grief-stricken young woman who will do anything to contact her dead brother. The film stars horror legend Tom Savini and Jason Carter, who previously played a vampire in the movie Demon Under Glass.
There is a webpage for the film here and a MySpace page here.
