Vampire Phantasm – online comic

Vampire Phantasm is an online comic created by Sarah Nelson. It originally spanned some 11 chapters, but Sarah has started the saga again from the beginning, and the result is a series currently up to Chapter 6, with some great artwork.

The storyline is based around Jack Price (AKA Jack Darkness). At the head of the series Jack lives in a world gone to Hell, a plague of vampirism is sweeping the globe. Jack, however, lives in relative happiness, with his wife Emily and their new baby Julia. That is until the vampire Maximilian Orlock invades their home, killing Emily and Julia, and then turning Jack into one of the undead. Some two hundred years later he saves a human, Jill Cross, and turns her. He can see a lot of Emily in Jill, but so can his sire…

Sarah runs occasional competitions and I was lucky enough to win one of the fan fiction contests with a piece entitled "Awaken Within the Darkness". The picture at the head of this blog entry was a piece Sarah drew based on the story and the text of it can be found under the extras tag of her page, look at fan-fiction competition #1.

The comic has been on a brief hiatus, due to events, and Sarah, I’d like to say that I’m glad your dad’s operation has gone well and my thoughts are with you and your family.
