Home again, home again

Hi to you all, I’m back from my week away and hope you all have been keeping well.

I’ve got quite a few films to go through for review but things may be a little patchy at first as I have a few series to get through as well, including Black Blood Brothers (from which the still came) – I’ll do my best to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

To anyone who mailed me, if it takes me a little while to get back to you then forgive me – I came back to a rather large amount of mail and a sickly internet connection (for some reason it always seems to develop faults whilst I am away).

In the meantime, if you nip on over to Horror Blips, you’ll find a little vampire thing I contributed to.

Hello - how was your trip?

I watched the collection of Black Blood Brothers a few months ago. My favourite character was Zelman Clock and I think they could do a series focused on him due to his online popularity. I look forward to your review.

Hey Gabriel - the trip was fine. Zelman was one of the more interesting characters but I did feel the characterisation left a little to be desired in a lot of the characters, hints but little more... review soon

No worries!

Been watching ALOT of Lovecraftian stuff lately + novels which I am going to try and review this weekend.
That includes Brian Lumley's THE COMPLEAT CROW (I've started Lumley's Mythos Omnibus collecting Burrower's Beneath, The Transition of Titus Crow and The Clock of Dreams + I have others in the pile) and I am going to film review The Dunwich Horror, From Beyond, Dagon, The Unnamable 1+2 and Castle Freak, though I may lack screencaps as my computer dvd player isn't multi-region like my dvd player is :'(

I've read Lumley's mythos omnibus - I seem to recall I liked them, but it has been a while.

For multi region on the PC try VLC - it doesn't cope with everything to be fair but it doesn't region check discs

As it turns out I have VLC on my computer as I used it fpr some anime eps (Blood+, Lelouche of the Revolution etc) I got in mkv format and its loaded my multi-region movies!

Unfortunately the program crashes whenever I try to take a 'snapshot' of a screencap!?

I'll have to figure it out, but it's good that I can play them on my comp now was that's what my stereo is hooked up to.

Thanks.

gabriel, screenshots should be do-able. I changed the key stroke for it to 'c' as it is that in power DVD - the default involves a few keys!

RThe great thing about screenshots in vlc is that it avoids the subtitle track, so you can screenshot without getting the subs (though once or twice I have wanted the particular subtitle)
