I always enjoy getting correspondence through and it was nice to receive an email from Gabriel, who is a fan of the blog. Gabriel mentioned a new film – due on DVD on 7th April 2009 – called Bled. The synopsis is as follows:
Sai, a hip, young, new age artist living in a downtown warehouse, delves into an elusive fantasy world of the unknown. An enigmatic and handsome man seduces her to try an ancient drug that, unbeknownst to her, will make her the prey of a vampire from a dark dimension. He takes advantage of her newfound addiction and uses it to cross over from his world into hers.
I enjoyed the trailer, embedded below, and have to thank you, Gabriel, for letting me know about this one – it is pre-ordered!

wow...now that looks like a vampire film worth watching - thanks gabriel and taliesin for posting!
Hello Taliesin,
No worries, glad you enjoyed it! I cannot get enough of that haunting and surreal trailer! But April 6th seems such a long way away. I hope the movie is AT least as great as the extended trailer - if so we are in for a treat. It's good to see horror/vampire film-makers making a geniune effort...
Whoops - I meant April 7th.
And Everlost - that's alright, I'm glad you enjoyed the trailer - when I first saw it - it blew my mind - and I'm excited it's a vampire movie for adults too :p
Cheers guys. April seems a while away, true, but at my old age time seems to move quicker than it used to lol!
Of course there is the cinema release of Lesbian Vampire Killers in March to tide us over.
Everlost, the DVD is available for pre-order at Play US
Looks like a stock of 'movie money' is required?
but...but...i was just forced to buy the entire "black books" series from amazon! surely i cant buy anything else...can i?
Taliesin, i can see you owning a Black Books type store at some point...stocked with vampire books obviously. I could be the bill bailey character, i have the build and hairstyle already!
crabstix - by movie money, if you are referring to cinema type vouchers then this is a region 1 DVD release, so no such vouchers needed, but the DVD will be much more pricey.
Everlost, whether a further order is within range I might say is between you and your conscience but if the general world pattern holds it is more between you and t'other half!
I had the idea for a store once, a combination horror, alternative store that I would call Houses of the Holy... however, given I am about as practical as a not very practical thing I am sure it would go down quicker than a Worrall Thompson whinge
Ooh this looks delicious!
Hi Dracenea, it does look nice - lets hope it lives up to the trailer
I also am waiting expectantly and hoping that the trailer isn't the best thing about this movie - because if the movie lives up to its promise it will be great.
I too am fearing its not as good as the trailer - but I'm keen for the nightmarish dimension parts of the movie then the reality parts, though from the trailer it looks like the vampires eventually cross over especially those who were turned in that dark haunted (and awesome) forest.
P.s this is "Gabriel" I just signed on to a google blog account so i would receive replies on threads etc - looking at how to do a blog now....
Hi Gabriel, linking the blog... best of luck with it
Thanks Taliesin! - I just finished the design and did my first article so as a blog expert I'd appreciate your opinion and tell me what you think of my first article. :)
Since I'm a fan of all horror its going to have werewolves, witches, ghasts and ghouls as well!
Cheers.
Just watched this movie...:( and I thought it was a waste of my time... the story was just repetitive and there was no suspense, the ending did not make sense?
I would like to here other ppls views, maybe I'm just getting old...
Got to say a little depressed at that news, but as they say, we'll see.
I have the DVD on order, when its released I'll watch and review - feel free to keep an eye out and we can have a discussion in the comments of the review.
