The Librarian films kind of passed me by, starring Noah Wyle I guessed they were sort of a 'more fantasy' rip of Indiana Jones. He returns as intrepid book-hunter Flynn Carsen this holiday period for a third adventure – the curse of the Judas Cup. In this one he travels to New Orleans to prevent Dracula from being reborn via said Judas Cup. The film airs this weekend, Stateside (TNT), and on 13th Dec in the UK (Sky Movies Premier).
I noticed this new film on Upcoming Horror Movies. In Against the Dark katana master Tao (Steven Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it's time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there's nothing left to lose but the last of humanity. It doesn’t mention in the UHM write up that the Rock is in the film also…
Also over there I read about Bat Out of Hell. After Snakes on a Plane and Flight of the Living Dead, I guess this was inevitable. As a red-eye flight from LA to NY takes off, everything seems to be normal. That is, until the co-pilot kills the pilot and a rogue group of coach passengers head into first class armed and ready to kill. Their claim -- there are nine passengers in the front of the plane who must die tonight. They are vampires, and our "heroes" will crash the plane if they have to in order to ensure their deaths. Not willing to die without a fight, the vampires unleash their fury in a battle of strength and wits six-miles-high, and all before the sun rises.
Finally, do bob across to Great Books Audio, where a podcast narration of Dracula has just commenced. At time of posting only Chapter 1 is available. The site is building an impressive catalogue of classic fiction, however.
