Stephen Moyer is to play the lead vampire in HBO's True Blood, an adaptation of Charlaine Harris' "Southern Vampire" novels by 6 Feet Under creator Alan Ball, joining previously cast Anna Paquin.
Moyer has been in a genre production previously, with a pivotal role in the UK vampire series Ultraviolet (a series which I should really review at some point).
