I was asked a little while ago where I got my character names from for Concilium Sanguinarius. I replied that most of the vampire character names were either mythological God forms or vampire types from world culture. There was one main exception, main protagonist and anti-hero Ymochel.
When I was thinking of a name for the character I came up with the name Ymochel, it just popped into my head. I at first assumed it to be an angelic name, but a search through lists of such names bore no fruit. So I did an online search and discovered that it was Welsh for “to beware” (also for “to shelter”). I liked the beware bit and used the name.
I was contacted today by someone who used to post at the same forum I used to post at, many years ago. His online name, Ymochel. Ahh.. thinks I, so that is from where the name came from - through the murk of my subconscious into the twilight of my conscious.
Thus a public thank you to Ymochel – whose name I have taken. There will be an acknowledgment in volume 2 when it is written. Ymochel, I have discovered, is a musician and writer and has a website here.
