Devilish Presley and Dark Nights in Blackpool

I saw Devilish Presley at the Misery of Sound in Blackpool, at the Westcoast Rock Café last night, supported by UFX. Thanks to both bands for a great night.

The Devilish Presley album Mephisto features the track Hammer Horror Glamour, rather fitting giving the Hammer Project that’s ongoing at the moment right here.

Misery of Sound looks to be a great monthly night and the next night, 14th July, will see goth/industrial punk band Action Directe visiting the town, so please give the event your support.

Incidentally I know that the vampire connection in the post is low, but DJ Grimly Fiendish did play “Bela Lugosi is Dead” for me last night, many thanks for that.

mention oh hammer horror glamour does bring to mind kate bush's hammer horror. does this mean we can expect a review of any of ms. bush's material, whether new or old?

Ahh Kate Bush, a very talented and very beautiful woman. Its actually been a long time since I last listened to the lionheart album and I must dig it out.

That said, I don't believe that the song lyrics mention of Hammer Horror mention vampires, so unlikely to be reviewed I'm afraid... though I might push the vampire boundaries a little (at some point) and reproduce them if only as an excuse to post a picture of Kate.

ok. so possibly no ms bush (boo hiss!). how about the damned. not only are devilish presley touring with them, but dave "transyl" vanian's entire look is based on dracula. added to that are the dark horror songs they've been known to record i.e. albums like grave disorder. surely this would warrant a mention in these hallowed pages

Hello... just back from working away. Ms Bush may get a mention after all... wait and see... however the Damned, a marvelous band. I have a couple of tracks from Grave Disorder from their website and it is an album I really want to get hold of.

Devilish are indeed supporting them on their tour this year.
