Breaking News: Deacon Frost Trilogy

According to the Sunday Mail, Stephen Dorff is set to make a trilogy of films that reprise his character of Deacon Frost, from Blade, in a Stephen Norrington helmed series of prequels.

More news as I get it.

I think this is an excellent idea. Wesley Snipes' stoic characterization was pretty well spent after the first Blade, and became really tiresome in II and III. The backstory of Deacon Frost is something that I'd definitely look forward to, but another trilogy . . . ay carumba! If they're done as well as the first Blade, it'll be time well spent.

p.s. If they're just starting the prequels 10 years after the fact, how are they going to overcome the problem that Dorff, who is supposedly turned into a vampire, looks significantly older than he did in the first film?

lots of make-up! wesley snipes won't be in anything for a while, he got 3 years in prison in april for tax evasion. thought the first two were great, but blade III was one too many...hope the fresh challenge of three prequels brings us three films as good as blade I & II

Hi Guys, thanks all for commenting.

I think everlost is right... lots of makeup/the magic of the movies.

Besides is at as silly as George Hamilton reprising Dracula in -love at second bite, which whilst about the kids is going to beg questions about vampires and aging!

Three flicks might be a little ambitious... and we'll wait with baited breath to see if one of them comes off (The Near Dark prequel seems to have fallen flat on its face for the moment and all three main stars seemed up for it)

I hope to hear more about this. It would be nice if they could breathe some new life into the series. I too think Blade III was a bit much. Although, not nearly as bad as some things, like making a pred-alien just to have another sequel.

BTW, I really like this blog. I'm going to follow it, but I'm wondering if you'd mind me linking to it from my vampire site La Taniere du Vampire. It's needing fresh content, and I think my viewers would enjoy this very much.
