You might recall my review of the novel. Well it is now a film due for release in native Sweden in April this year.If the film matches the book - something I feel it might given the trailer - this could be one of the most disturbing vampire movies made - a bold statement and one I hope it lives up to.
No clear idea as to whether there will be an international cinema release or even DVD release at this point - but lets hope so.
I've embedded the trailer below.
I can't believe what I just saw. I knew a movie was "in development," but I assumed it wassn't going to be made...anytime soon at least. But that it looks faithful as well...some of those scenes look exactly like I envisioned them when I read the book. English subtitled version ASAP.
ReplyDeleteit does look good, doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteShockingly so. While I am sure some elements are going to be excised, if it delivers a fraction of what that trailer promises, then we have a good vampire flick to look forward to.
ReplyDeletefrom what I can gather Lindqvist actually wrote the script as well.
ReplyDeleteNot all novelists can pull off screenwriting, but it sure would be nice if more films enlisted their advice.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but in this case I'm guessing that his involvement has helped keep the integrity we can already see in the trailer
